India Recycles brings recycling and thrifting to the masses. The initiative is driven by a desire to help the poor experience dignity and choice. Volunteers collect everything that can be reused or resold, from clothing to household items, and resell them at a subsidised price through a network of slum markets that are organised. What isn’t sold is made into new items by the women in slums who are taught stitching and embroidery thereby creating livelihoods thus creating a zero-waste enterprise.
